1/2c.buttermilk
1/2tsp.vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste
Glaze
1/2c.powdered sugar
1 to 2tbsp.milk
Instructions
Heat oven to 400ºF. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside until ready to use.
In a large bowl, stir together flour, oats, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Add butter and using a pastry blender or your fingertips, mix butter and flour together until butter is pea-sized.
Add buttermilk and vanilla extract and stir just until combined.
Gather dough together and transfer to baking sheet. Gently pat the dough into a disc, about 7 inches in diameter. Cut into 6 wedges and separte each so they're about 1 inch apart.
Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely on wire rack.
Meanwhile, for the glaze, stir together powdered sugar and 1 tablespoon of milk. Add additonal milk until the glaze is at desired consistency. Drizzle over scones before serving.
