Rent the Runway

Ahh, Rent the Runway.

Or RTR, as you’ll commonly see it.

When I became pregnant with my first little (about five years ago now), I quickly realized that clothes that fit one week didn’t fit the right way the next. With all of the clothing services surfacing at the time (e.g., Trunk Club, Stitch Fix), I knew there had to be something out there that would save me from constantly purchasing “maternity” wear that I knew I wouldn’t/couldn’t wear for long.

All of my pictures should have a baby on hip, because that’s my #reallife 🤪

And then RTR popped up on my radar.

RTR is essentially a designer rental service. Clothes, bags, and accessories. Delivered right to your door, free shipping both ways. No subscription obligation. Honestly sounds too good to be true, huh? I assure you, it’s not.

With over 700 designer brands (e.g, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Gucci, Joie, Lovers + Friends), RTR has something for everyone. For every occasion. Whether you’re looking to spruce up your workwear, your casual every day pieces, maternity(-esque) wear, or just looking for a cute brunch #OOTD, RTR has something for you.

Another perk of the RTR Membership is that you have the option to buy items at a steeply discounted price!

So, how does one use RTR? It’s super simple. First, they have a free app you easily download. Through the app, you shop all of their pieces, “love” your favorites, and add items to your next shipment. And depending on which plan you choose will give you a certain number of spots to fill. So, let’s chat about that.

RTR has three plans, which you select depending on your (closet) needs. Here are the high level details for each one:

4 Items per Month

$89/month ; 1 shipment/month

8 Items per Month

$135/month ; 2 shipments/month

16 Items per Month

$199/month ; 4 shipments/month

I’m currently on the 4 Items per Month plan because I like mixing in a few fun pieces with my more classic, staple closet. For me personally, in this stage in life, that’s plenty. But your decision will be based on your needs and how you’re looking to supplement your wardrobe. This year has really been the first time I’ve used RTR for “normal clothes” (in the past I was typically just using it during pregnancy, as I mentioned). But I genuinely love this convenient service that has allowed me to branch out with my style at a fraction of the cost!

And since I became an official RTR ambassador, I now have my own promo code that gives you 50% off the first two months with RTR using the 8 or 16 Items per Month plans if you sign up in November. 50% off! So just copy/paste the below code at signup and you’ll be good to go!

I know starting a new service can be a little overwhelming, so if you have any questions/concerns, please leave a comment below or DM me on Insta! I LOVE hearing from you all anyway and would love to give you more insight on my experience thus far. RTR also has a very helpful FAQ page that should help clarify any details I may have left out.

Happy (designer) shopping!
