I had so much fun creating a guest blog post for my friends at State of Play (SoP), that I wanted to make sure I also shared my write up here on TBA. I’ve wanted to do an athleisure post for some time but for whatever reason never quite got around to it. So this opportunity “forced” me to get my thoughts down on (blog post) paper and shop around to put outfits together. Which is obviously the most fun part!
Anyway, here’s an excerpt from my post over at SoP and outfit inspo collages. Links to all of the pieces are below each collage, too. And don’t forget to check out SoP, where they create the softest and cutest kids and adult staples. Including custom pieces!
Happy (comfy) shopping, everyone!
“…When State of Play (SoP) approached me with a post opportunity, I knew right away that I wanted to somehow share two of my passions: fashion and fitness. And I couldn’t think of anything more perfect than the ever so popular athleisure style. I’ll start with saying that there’s never been a better time to be a busy Mama than when wearing sweatpants, boxy tees, and sneakers are considered stylish. Amirite, or amirite?!
Pre-quarantine, my weekdays consisted of school drop-off/pick-up, heading to the gym, and running any number of errands. And what I quickly learned is that I needed attire to get me through all of the above. Because although I am a mom, I still wanted to keep alive some of what makes me, me. Which meant finding some stylish workout gear and athleisure pieces I could wear to and from the gym as well as chasing my littles along the Chicago streets.
Over the last few years, I’ve created a collection of go-to workout and street style pieces. So I thought it would be fun to create a few inspirational collages to show how fun, easy, and versatile this style can be. And I, of course, had to use a SoP piece to show how quickly their incredible tops can become part of your every day wardrobe. Just like they did in mine!…”
